![]() ![]() The restaurant in the lodge is very expensive, ate there one night, the next night we just had a pizza at Valhalla Pizza which was better than the hotel restaurant. Of course the advantage was that it was a 5 minute walk to the Rim and was a nice room with king bed, fridge, microwave, porch, in-room coffee. I feel this was a deceptive description of the room location. However, at check-in, I was informed there are only 4 suites in the lodge, no other rooms and that our room was a motel type room in a motel type building, about a 5 minute walk from the lodge where the restaurant is located. Since we had never stayed in Bryce Canyon, I assumed this was a Lodge Room. When I made the reservation it stated "Bryce Canyon Lodge with King Bed". We recently stayed 2 nights in Bryce Canyon. It’s difficult to decide what to score this. We visited during a heatwave which, with no air con, was a bit challenging even when the temperature dropped outside, but there was a plentiful supply of ice from the restaurant on request. Staff all pleasant and friendly, with great attentive service. For dinner we shared a massive pizza from the pizzeria the first night (very good) and had burgers in the lodge the second night. We ate breakfast in the lodge (excellent and really good value buffet). WiFi was pretty good too as we were in the main lodge. The location is perfect, we could park right outside, and the main bed was very comfortable indeed. This was much better but still not great for a 6ft teen boy and would not have worked at all for a couple. In the morning the experience was entirely different and a rollaway bed (and a sincere apology) was provided within about 20 minutesof our complaint. The first night front desk couldn’t do anything and just provided a large quantity of additional bedding to try to help (it didn’t). The mattress was all saggy springs with no padding. Unfortunately the sofa bed was un-usable. This arrangement was OK for two adults and a teen for two nights. It’s a two room suite: sofa bed in the living area with a coffee machine, which leads to the main bedroom with the fridge and microwave, and then a bathroom off the bedroom. We stayed in the Syrett suite in the main lodge.
